Your energy drink isn't giving you the ‘energy’ to function like flash rather, it is killing you from inside!
There are only very few people in today’s world who don't depend on energy drinks when the going gets tough, whether at work, school or college. I remember when I was in college, right before my exams the only thing I would survive on was Red Bull or Monster drink.
Little did I know then that the thing I thought was my saviour during the most stressful period of my college life, in fact, turned out to be the one slowly killing me. Now I relate energy drinks only with Petyr Baelish whereas I always thought of them as Jon Snow.
It isn't a shocker that energy drinks aren't good for us. Even when they first came out, a lot of people objected, but we were so busy fantasying about having wings that we ignored those people. Incident reports released by the FDA show that people may have died after drinking energy drinks. Not only that, but they're also known to have similar side effects to cocaine.
After a quick search on google I even found that there are more side effects as well, namely:
- Cardiac Arrest
- Headaches and Migraines
- Increased Anxiety
- Insomnia
- Type 2 Diabetes
- Drug Interaction
- Addiction
- Jitters and Nervousness
- Risky Behaviour
- Vomiting
- Allergic Reactions
- High Blood Pressure
- Niacin Overdose
- Stress Hormone Release
Woah! Now, this seems like a lot. I would rather fail in an exam than rely on an energy drink to pull an all-nighter.
However, like they say ‘where there is a will, there is a way’. So why not look for a few alternatives to boost your energy like maybe you could take a quick nap, drink tea or coffee instead or for that matter anything else that would work for you.
